What Are RADIESSE® & Belotero Balance® (+)?
RADIESSE® is an FDA-approved calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) dermal filler suspended in an aqueous carrier gel. It provides immediate volume after injection and stimulates the body’s collagen production over time, with results that typically last a year or more. Because CaHA is biocompatible and biodegradable, the carrier gel is gradually absorbed and metabolized, leaving behind the client’s own neocollagen.
Belotero Balance® (+) is a hyaluronic acid (HA) injectable filler formulated with a cohesive polydensified matrix (CPM) technology that allows it to integrate directly and evenly into the superficial dermal tissue. Unlike volumizing fillers, Belotero Balance® (+) is specifically designed to address moderate-to-severe etched-in lines and wrinkles, including vertical lip lines and perioral lines, without disrupting natural facial movement or expression.
Who Is A Candidate For RADIESSE® & Belotero Balance® (+)?
These two fillers address different layers of the skin and different types of volume loss, which is why candidacy depends on what each client’s anatomy actually needs.
The two products are frequently used together in a single coordinated appointment. RADIESSE® works by rebuilding deeper structural support in the midface or lower face, while Belotero Balance® (+) addresses the finer surface lines that deeper fillers aren’t designed to address.

The RADIESSE® & Belotero Balance® (+) Treatment
Every injectable appointment at Deluxe Med Spa and Wellness begins with a thorough skin assessment. For first-time clients, this means understanding your facial anatomy, the degree of volume loss, the specific lines and folds you’re concerned about, and your goals for both the immediate results and the longer-term treatment plan. We determine which product, or combination of products, is appropriate for your anatomy before anything else.
The Procedure
A topical numbing cream is applied before treatment. Both RADIESSE® and Belotero Balance® (+) are also formulated with lidocaine (designated by the (+) suffix on each product) to improve comfort during injection. Your provider will use a precise injection technique appropriate to each product’s target tissue depth. Appointments typically take 30-60 minutes, depending on the number of areas being addressed.
RADIESSE® Injection Technique
RADIESSE® is injected into the deep dermis or subcutaneous tissue using either a cannula or needle, depending on the treatment area and the provider’s clinical judgment. In the lower face and jawline, a supraperiosteal or subcutaneous placement supports volume and structural correction. In the hands, it is injected subdermally and gently massaged to ensure even distribution.
Belotero Balance® (+) Injection Technique
Belotero Balance® (+) is placed in the superficial to mid-dermis using a fine needle. Its CPM formulation allows it to flow evenly through the superficial tissue, making it one of the only HA fillers reliably safe for very fine, shallow lines close to the skin’s surface.
RADIESSE® & Belotero Balance® (+) Recovery and Results
Immediately After Treatment
Both fillers are minimally invasive with very little required downtime, though individual responses vary.
Mild swelling, redness, and bruising at the injection sites are common and usually resolve within a few days. Clients should avoid strenuous exercise, alcohol, and prolonged sun exposure for 24-48 hours post-treatment. Broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher is recommended daily going forward.
RADIESSE®
Results are visible immediately upon injection as the CaHA gel adds volume and fills the treated areas. Over the following weeks and months, the collagen stimulation process continues to build on the initial results, with the full benefits developing over 2-3 months. Results in most clients last a year or more.
Belotero Balance® (+): Improvement in etched-in lines is visible immediately after injection. Results typically last 6 months or more, with duration influenced by the treatment area, the amount of product used, and the degree of movement in the treated zone. Areas with higher levels of muscle activity, like around the mouth, may metabolize the product more quickly than less active areas.
