What Is Morpheus8® RF Microneedling?
Morpheus8® is a fractional RF microneedling system that delivers bipolar radiofrequency energy through ultra-fine needles into the subdermal tissue. Unlike RF microneedling systems that work primarily within the dermis, Morpheus8® is specifically made for subdermal adipose remodeling, reaching tissue up to 8mm below the surface to stimulate collagen production, tighten the overlying skin, and remodel the deeper structural layers of the face and body.
Who Is A Candidate For Morpheus8® RF Microneedling?
Morpheus8® RF microneedling is best for clients dealing with structural changes in the skin and underlying tissue that require treatment at depth. It is safe on Fitzpatrick skin types I through VI with a low risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, making it one of the more inclusive deep-remodeling options available.

Moderate skin laxity in the face, neck, or jawline that hasn’t responded adequately to surface treatments.

The Morpheus8® Treatment
Our clinical workflow for Morpheus8® is designed to ensure the highest standards of safety while maximizing the thermal impact on deep-seated tissue layers.
The Procedure
A topical anesthetic is applied before the session begins. Your provider selects the tip configuration based on the treatment area and depth of remodeling needed. The handpiece is then moved across the treatment zone, with microneedles penetrating to a pre-set depth and delivering bipolar RF energy at the point of insertion. The RF heat is concentrated at the needle tips, protecting the epidermis while targeting the dermal and subdermal layers below. Sessions typically range from 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the size of the area being treated.
Burst Mode
When treating larger areas or multiple depth levels simultaneously, Morpheus8® operates in Burst Mode by automatically delivering bipolar RF energy to three sequential tissue depths within a single needle insertion cycle. This significantly reduces treatment time, minimizes surface disruption, and increases the uniformity of thermal coagulation across the treatment zone.
3D Smart Frame (Body Handpiece)
For body treatments, the Morpheus8® Body handpiece uses bipolar RF energy in sequential radial and vertical patterns. This allows the clinician to treat a larger surface area at consistent depth with uniform energy distribution rather than sequential point-by-point passes.
Morpheus8®, In Depth
Days 1-7
Your skin is in active repair mode. Underneath the surface, the tissue that was treated is beginning to respond to the controlled heat by initiating the remodeling process. Visible redness and any pinpoint marks from the microneedling fade during this first week.
Weeks 2-6
This is when clients start noticing changes. Your body is producing new collagen and depositing it in the treated tissue, which gradually tightens the skin from the inside out. Acne scarring becomes less textured, and the jawline and lower face start to look more defined.
Months 2-4
The full result becomes visible here. Because Morpheus8® works at a deeper tissue level than most RF devices, the changes at this stage aren’t just surface improvements; the skin’s underlying structure has been remodeled, and it shows. Treated areas look firmer, more contoured, and more consistent in texture.
Morpheus8® RF Microneedling Recovery and Results
Morpheus8® is minimally invasive by design, but because it reaches deeper tissue than most RF microneedling systems, the post-treatment response reflects that. Plan for 1-3 days of social downtime, though most clients return to normal activities within 24-48 hours.
Immediately After Treatment
Expect redness, mild swelling, and pinpoint marks at the needle insertion sites. The skin may feel warm and tight. Most of these effects resolve within 24-72 hours. We recommend avoiding active skincare ingredients, heavy exercise, and direct sun exposure for several days following treatment, and applying broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher daily going forward.
Optimal Outcomes
A series of 1-3 sessions is standard, depending on the degree of laxity and the treatment area. Sessions are typically spaced 4-6 weeks apart to allow each round of collagen production to develop before the next. Maintenance sessions every 12-18 months help sustain results as the natural aging process continues.
